The pandemic has caused a lot of uncertainty in what to expect with traveling. This page was created to help answer any questions you have about traveling during COVID-19. This page will be updated throughout the year, so we can constantly be providing you with information. If you have a question that is not listed, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Will there be a required 14-day quarantine? If so, what will it look like?
Please check out https://finance.temple.edu/travel-resources/international-travel for more information about quarantining upon arrival and what that will entail.
How are airlines handling social distancing?
Most airlines are not selling a middle seat to ensure safety while onboard. When boarding, passengers board 10 people at a time while maintaining distance. When deplaning, flight attendants will dismiss passengers by row to prevent crowding in the aisle.
What is the mask policy for flying?
It is required to wear a mask on airplanes and in the airport. If you have a medical exemption, please visit the airlines website for their mask policy and any required paperwork.
Do I need to get tested before entering a different country? Will I need to provide additional documentation?
Entry requirements are listed on each country specific U.S. Embassy website. We recommend checking well before you depart in the event that testing is required.
Where can I find country specific public health forms?
These can be found on the U.S. Embassy website or through country specific covid-19 websites. You can usually Google the forms as well.
Who do I contact if I get COVID-19 while traveling?
You should contact the program leader if there is one or your host university. They will be able to advise you on next steps.
How is Temple monitoring traveling during COVID-19?
Please check out https://finance.temple.edu/travel-resources/international-travel or https://www.temple.edu/coronavirus/international-campuses-programs to see how Temple is making decisions based on studying abroad.
What is open? What new rules are in place due to COVID-19 that we need to know about?
Every country/region/state is different, so we recommend checking to see what phase they are in and what that looks like. You can find this information in the resource section.
What type of restrictions are in place for entering and exiting the country?
For the United States, there are no requirements for entering and exiting as long as you are a legal resident or U.S. Citizen. Some states are requiring quarantines based on infection rates. However, each country is different, so we recommend checking the state department to see if there any testing requirements before entering a country.
